Sadio Mane is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer and the Senegal international could be ending up facing Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia next season.
- Al-Hilal preparing offer for Mane
- Bayern open to sell forward
- Premier League return also still possible
What is the news?
According to Footmercato, Al-Hilal would like to do business with Bayern for Mane. The top club from Saudi Arabia was recently associated with Lionel Messi, but the Argentinian seems to prefer to return to FC Barcelona. Since Al-Hilal still wants to bring a big star to the club this summer, Mane is thought to be a good alternative. The attacker is considered one of the biggest African stars and the club would like to use that to increase popularity in that continent.
The backstory
Mane was signed from Liverpool last summer with high expectations. Despite a promising start in Munich, the attacker has had a disappointing season. He had a lot of injuries and he had a big fight with his teammate Leroy Sane in April. This has only increased rumors of a departure. In recent weeks, Mane has always had a reserve role at Bayern and it is expected in Germany that the club will be open to selling the former Liverpool attacker for a good price.
Other interested clubs
Al-Hilal is not the only club interested in Mane. Sky Germany reported that Newcastle United have serious interest in the attacker now that the club has qualified for next season’s Champions League. Earlier Chelsea and Arsenal were also mentioned as possible clubs, but the two London clubs have different priorities in the summer transfer market.
