Arsenal have high hopes that Saka will be putting his signature under a new multi-year contract with the club soon. The club and the player’s management have been in talks since last year without progressing towards an agreement. Saka’s intentions – however – have always been to stay on at Arsenal and it is now expected that a deal might be wrapped up soon.
The backstory
The 21-year-old forward has been one of Arsenal’s key players this season and one of the main figures in the club’s title challenging season. Saka is also the only Premier League player thus far to reach double figures for goals and assists.
What next?
Arsenal are clearly hoping that a new deal gets signed soon as Saka’s contract will run out next season. While it is currently not expected that the forward has the intention to leave the club, the lack of a new contract could change that. Saka’s last contract with Arsenal was signed back in 2020 and the striker has made enough progress since then to earn himself a new and improved contract with the club he joined as a teenager.
