Arsenal have joined the clubs interested in Chelsea’s Mason Mount. The England international seems to be looking for a new club after he decided to refuse a contract offer from The Blues. Mount has just one year left on his contract at the end of this season and Chelsea will be looking to sell the attacking midfielder to bring balance back to the squad.
Liverpool, Newcastle United and both clubs from Manchester would have already made contract with Mount’s management and Arsenal may now also be added to that list of interested clubs. The Gunners are also interested in West Ham United’s Declan Rice, but would hope for a double-deal this summer and also bring Mount to the Emirates.
Various media in England report that Liverpool are currently in the lead to sign Mount, but the lack of Champions League football at Anfield could be important in Mount’s choice. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta would be particularly interested in the versatility of the England international and a possible Premier League title and Champions League football could be the deciding factor in Mount’s choice.
