Arsenal are ready to make a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Pedro Neto once the season in the Premier League has finished.
What’s the news?
According to Football Insider, Arsenal are reigniting their interest in Neto this summer. The Gunners will be in the market for a winger as they look to sign a back-up for star forward Bukayo Saka. Though a deal is still far off, especially as Arsenal reportedly has a very large shortlist for the winger position.
In the background
Neto joined Wolves for a reported 16 million euros in 2019 from Italian side Lazio and currently has four years left on his contract. Arsenal already shown interest in Neto last year, but were spooked by Wolves’ 50 million price tag. Also, interest in Neto would be surprising, seeing the Portuguese forward has missed out large parts of the past two seasons due to injuries, including a serious knee injury in the 2021-22 season.
What’s next for Arsenal?
Arsenal have a large shortlist with possible signings for this summer and will be looking to sign an extra winger this summer. The Gunners have already secured qualification for next year’s Champions League, which will make them extra interesting. Last month it was also revealed that Arsenal would be interested in signing FC Barcelona and Brazil forward Raphina if he would become available on the transfer market.
