Marco Asensio will be leaving Real Madrid on a free transfer once his contract has expired next month, reports from Spain have confirmed.

Contract negotiations between Asensio and Madrid on a potential new deal have ended, leaving the Spaniard’s contract to expire next month. Reports from Spain have claimed that Asensio has decided to bring and end to his stay at the club as he looks for a new challenge in his career.
The backstory
Asensio (27) joined Madrid in 2015 from Real Mallorca as one of Europe’s biggest prospects. Whilst making over 200 appearances for the club, Asensio never managed to develop himself as a regular starter. This season he started in less then half of the possible games he could have played.
What now for Asensio?
Despite not being a regular at Madrid, Asensio still is a wanted player across Europe. Several Premier League clubs have made contact with Asensio’s agent Jorge Mendes. Paris Saint-Germain are als interested, but the reports all point to Aston Villa, with Unai Emery being a big admirer of the Spanish international.
