Aston Villa are aiming to attack the top teams in the Premier League next season. The Villans are ready to invest some serious cash into their squad as they are reportedly preparing bids for Ferran Torres and Dusan Vlahovic.

What’s the news?

Villa are aiming for a top six finish this season in the Premier League, securing a spot in next season’s Europa League. But that is not enough for Villa, who are aiming to develop into a top four club within the next few seasons. The club has almost confirmed the arrival of FC Barcelona’s Mateu Alemany as sporting director and are now moving on to investing in their squad for next season. Barcelona forward Torres and Juventus striker Vlahovic are currently being linked with the Villans, who could be needing an investment of more than 100 million euros to sign both forwards.

What’s next?

After Villa have finalised the appointment of Almany, the club is ready to move on to the next chapter of their development. One of the first jobs of the new sporting director will be convincing both Torres and Vlahovic to leave their clubs and join the Premier League club for a long-term project. Secondly Almany will need to reach an agreement with both Barcelona and Juventus. Where the Spanish club could be easy to negotiatie with due to their financial situation, Juve invested 81 million euros in Vlahovic and it is not expected that the Italians are prepared to sell the Serbian striker for anything lower than their original signing price.
