- Barca director breaks silence on future
- Club set to reshape technical team
- Deco replacing Cruijff as director
What is the news?
Barcelona director Alemany was expected to leave the club this summer and join up with Aston Villa for a long-term project. The last couple of days there have been rumours that Alemany has made a radical U-turn on his decision ot leave Barcelona. The club has yet to put out a statement, but there are signals that the sporting director will continue his work with club beyond this season.
What did Alemany say?
On Thursday Alemany attended a club dinner and there he was asked about his future. Despite being vague and not giving out too much information, Alemany said: “Everything is fine, everything is fine”, when he was asked about his direct future at the club. He then added: “LaLiga has been very important and we are all very happy.”
At this point it is still unclear whether Alemany will leave the club this summer or sign a new contract. Barcelona are currently reshaping their technical team with Jordi Cruijff already confirming his departure with the club. The Dutchman looks to be replaced by former midfielder Deco but there has not been an official announcement on his appointment. It is expected that Barcelona will soon make a public statement on their plans for next season.
