Bayern Munich have decided to suspend Sadio Mane after the incident with teammate Leroy Sane on Tuesday. That means that the Senegal international will not be included in Bayern’s squad for the Bundesliga match against 1899 Hoffenheim. At this point it is unclear if the suspension will be extend for the return of the Champions League quarter final against Manchester City.
Mane and Sane already confronted each other during the second half in the Etihad Stadium in Manchester as Bayern got trashed 3-0 by City. After the game, the two forwards got into a fight and had to be separated by teammates to prevent the situation from escalating even more. In that fight, Mane allegedly punched his teammate in the face.
After the incident, Mane reportedly apologized to both Sane and the rest of the Bayern squad. Despite this, the Bayern club management has decided to exclude the former Liverpool attacker for at least one game. Bayern will defend the top position in the Bundesliga this weekend and will hope for a good result after the loss to Man City.
