Brighton and Hove Albion will be breaking their transfer record this summer to sign Watford striker Joao Pedro. Sky Sports claim that both club have reached an agreement in principle and that only a medical and player terms need to be discussed. The 21-year-old Brazil forward will then join Brighton during the summer transfer window.
It is expected that Brighton will be breaking their own transfer record to land the talented striker from Watford. Their previous transfer record was set by Adam Webster from Bristol City. The defender joined Brighton in the summer of 2019 for a reported transfer fee around 23 million euros.
Pedro joined Watford in January 2020 and looks to end his career at the Hornets after two-and-a-half seasons. The Brazilian forward is Watford’s top goal scorer this season with 11 goals in 35 league games in the Championship. It is believed that several other Premier League clubs have shown interest in Pedro, but he has chosen to sign with Brighton.
