Eden Hazard set for shock return to the Premier League

NewsEden Hazard set for shock return to the Premier League

Eden Hazard will leave Real Madrid this summer, write various media from Spain. The Belgian winger has a contract until the summer of 2024 and it seems unlikely that he will stay at Madrid beyond his current expiration date. A summer transfer seems most likely at the moment and a return to the Premier League beckons for Hazard.

Newcastle United would be interested in the arrival of Hazard. The Magpies are doing an excellent job in the Premier League this season and could qualify for the Champions League for the first time in over twenty years. The club wants to strengthen the team for next season and it is believed that Hazard can add something to Eddie Howe’s team in the longer term. Real would settle for a low transfer fee, which would make Hazard an interesting option.

When the Belgian was signed from Chelsea for 100 million euros in 2019, no one was surprised. At the time Hazard was one of the best wingers in the world and it was therefore logical that the attacker was purchased by the Spanish superpower for a transfer fee that would surpass the 100 million mark. Unfortunately – partly due to some serious injuries to his ankle – Hazard has not managed to reach his old Chelsea level for a moment since his transfer.

In four seasons at Real, Hazard has only managed to play 75 games, scoring 7 goals and providing 12 assists. Under Carlo Ancelotti the Belgian has dropped down even further and he has only been involved in 12 games this season, despite being fit for most part. Ancelotti is said to have already told Hazard that he cannot count on more playing time and advised him to look for a new club.
