Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha would love to see Neymar join the Premier League next season, but the former France international would rather not see him joining United.
What’s the news?
Manchester United are looking to strengthen their frontline during the summer with Harry Kane being the number one favourite. However, the Tottenham Hotspur striker would be a very expensive acquisition for United and this is why the club has been looking around for possible alternatives. One name that has popped up recently is that of Neymar. The Brazilian would be overthinking his career at Paris Saint-Germain and has been quoted in the past that he would love to play in the Premier League in his career. A transfer to United would be one of the few viable options in the Premier League, but that would not make Saha happy.
What did Saha say about Neymar?
In an interview with Betfred, Saha said: “It would be great for the Premier League to have Neymar playing in England because he’s such a terrific player. He’s very entertaining to watch but I can understand the question marks that can come from having a player like Neymar at your club.”
“I’m just a big fan of the player on the pitch but I don’t believe he’s lived up to expectations in his last three or four seasons with PSG,” he continued. “I wouldn’t want to see him in a Manchester United shirt considering the exaggerated media attention a superstar like him would attract. The team structure is so important and still fragile at times. But I certainly believe he’d be a great addition to the Premier League.”
