Toni Kroos has extended his expiring contract with Real Madrid, the usually well-informed Fabrizio Romano assures. According to the Italian transfer guru, Kroos will soon sign a new contract that will attach him to Madrid until the summer of 2024.
Kroos has been one of the key players at Madrid for years, but the contract extension of the experienced midfielder was delayed until the final months. The midfielder, who signed with Madrid in 2014, could have decided to finish his career elsewhere, but has now decided to extend his contract for at least one year. It is unclear whether Real has an option to extend the contract beyond 2024.
In addition to Kroos, Madrid is also in the process of extending Karim Benzema’s contract. The French attacker has become captain of Los Blancos in recent years and would like to finish his career at Madrid. According to Romano, Benzema’s new contract is almost complete and it is only a matter of waiting for an official statement from Madrid.
