Cristiano Ronaldo is under fire in Saudi Arabia as a Saudi lawyer has called for the Portuguese super star to be deported from the country for making obscene gestures at Al Nassr’s match against Al Hilal on Tuesday.
Ronaldo’s club lost 0-2 to Al-Hilal and the forward was almost sent off after he got into an argument with an opponent during the game and then headlocked that opponent. Frustration ran high on Ronaldo, as shortly after the match he was caught on video appearing to make an obscene gesture towards a group of fans.
While leaving the pitch the fans chanted the name of Lionel Messi. As a result, Ronaldo was caught grabbing his genitals. And because of that gesture Ronaldo needs to be deported out of the country, says Nouf bin Ahmed. “It’s considered a crime of public dishonor, and it is one of the crimes that entails arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner.”
It is believed that several Saudi’s have supported the comments of the lawyer and firmly believe that Ronaldo should be punished for his actions. Al-Nassr have not made an official statement about Ronaldo’s gesture, though a spokesperson of the club stated that Ronaldo touched his genitals because he received a blow to the body part during the game.
