Manchester United have made Adrien Rabiot a high priority target for this summer, French outlet L ‘Equipe has claimed.
- United re-ignite interest in Rabiot
- Midfielder is available for free this summer
- Juventus fear to miss Champions League
What is the news?
Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer and the Red Devils have been looking at a number of targets. One player that has been on the shortlist for a while is Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The French international was already linked to United last summer and it is now suggested that the Premier League giants will be coming back for Rabiot, who is in the final months of his contract.
Rabiot’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season and it looks very likely that the midfielder will be leaving Juventus on a free transfer. His status as a free agent makes Rabiot a very interesting target for many clubs in Europe, but it has been suggested that he wants to complete a move to United. It is believed that Erik ten Hag has held contacts with Rabiot after the Dutchman already established contact with the former PSG midfielder last summer.
What will happen next?
Rabiot would first want to finish the season at Juventus before making any decisions on his future. There are three matches to play in the Serie A this season and Juventus have reclaimed second position on the table. However, the club still fears a 15-point deduction following the lawsuit involving financial fraud and that could drop Juventus out of the top four, leaving them out of the Champions League next season.
