NewsMan United interested in Leicester City ace if Foxes relegate

Leicester City still has to fear relegation from the Premier League. The Foxes are currently 18th on the table and are currently in the relegation zone. If Leicester will relegate from to the Championship, Manchester United are ready to step up their interest in midfielder and England international James Maddison, The Telegraph reports.

While Leicester still have five games to avoid relegation to the Championship and will need a win against Everton on Monday to get out of the red zone in the Premier League. The match will be followed closely in Manchester, as United would be very keen on making a bid for Maddison if Leicester do get relegated from the Premier League. The report by The Telegraph also mention Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United as interested clubs.

Meanwhile, Leicester announced losses of around 100 million euros earlier this year and the club could be desperate to land the needed funds to keep their heads above the water. Maddison is one of the most valuable players in the squad, but with a contract that expires in the summer of 2024 and a possible relegation to the Championship will not benefit their position to negotiate a high priced transfer deal.
