Mauricio Pochettino has not yet been officially appointed by Chelsea, but the Argentinian is said to be working on his squad for next season. The Argentinian coach would like to travel to Italy soon to have talks with Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker is on loan at Internazionale this season and, according to insiders, would not want to return to Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku was brought back to Chelsea for a big money two years ago after impressing at Everton, Manchester United and Inter. Once returned in London Lukaku failed to impress and after a single season he returned to Italy, this time on loan at Inter. This summer, the Belgian is expected to return to Chelsea, but it has been reported that Lukaku does not want to return to Chelsea at all and still hopes Inter will activate a buy-clause in his loan deal.
Despite Lukaku’s possible future plans away from Chelsea, Pochettino isn’t ready to give up hope of the striker’s return to Stamford Bridge. The Telegraph writes that Pochettino will travel to Milan with a representative from Chelsea to talk to the striker. They are said to want to speak with Lukaku about their future plans and whether the striker has a future in London.
