Several clubs from the Premier League are interested in signing Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, reports transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on social media. The Georgian goalkeeper recently signed a new contract at the Spanish club, but it is clear that Valencia would not be able to hold on to him if English clubs decide to push forward and make an offer.
Mamardashvili has been one of the few lights in Valencia’s current LaLiga season. The 22-year-old joined the club in January 2022 and he developed himself as the club’s first choice goalkeeper with some excellent performances. Since then his transfer value has sky rocketed and he is currently valued at €25 million (transfermarkt.com). Valencia, who are sitting in 18th position currently, could be forced to sell the talented goalkeeper is they are relegated from LaLiga.
According to Romano, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have added Mamardashvili on their shortlist for next season. Chelsea have Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy under contract but neither goalkeepers have been impressing this season. Meanwhile Spurs goalkeeper recently turned 36 and is nearing the end of his career. Romano also states that a delegation of Leicester City has spoken to Mamardashvili in recent weeks.
