- PSG have met with Lucas Hernandez’ agent
- Bayern not keen to sell this summer
- PSG ready to rebuild team
What is the news?
A report by 90min states that the Parisians are looking to overhaul their team this summer and they have marked Bayern Munich and France star Lucas Hernandez as one of their primary targets. It is suggested that representatives of PSG have already met with the agent of Hernandez and that there now is an agreement in principle. PSG will now have to negotiate with Bayern, but the Germans are reportedly reluctant to sell.
The backstory
Lucas signed for Bayern in 2019 in a transfer from Atletico Madrid and the French defender has been a first team regular throughout his stay in Bavaria. He will enter the final two years of his contract next season and the German club is open to negotiating a new deal. If the France international rejects the approach from Bayern, it seems the club will be open to sell. The question is if Bayern would be prepared to sell the defender this summer or keep him at the club for at least another season.
PSG rebuild
After a disappointing season for PSG, the French giants are preparing a massive rebuild this summer. Top earners Lionel Messi and Neymar are reportedly leaving the club, while the club will be evaluating their current squad during the summer transfer window. PSG are looking to change their strategy and are interested in signing French footballers or young international players who could develop into potential world stars. PSG’s shortlist also includes Uruguayan midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who currently plays for Sporting Portugal.
