- French club wants Man City star
- PSG prepared to match 80M release clause
What is the news?
PSG sporting director Luis Campos is currently working on a renewed squad for next season and he is slowly preparing for life without Lionel Messi. According to Le Parisien, the director has made Manchester City ace Bernardo Silva a leading target for this summer. The Portugal international reportedly has an 80 million clause in his contract and PSG would find this an acceptable fee for Silva.
The backstory
With the departure of Messi and the increasing unrest surrounding Neymar, PSG are looking to rebuild their attack next season. Silva is a candidate for one of the positions, Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane have been put forward as potential candidates for the number nine position.
What next?
It will be interesting to see if Silva would be open to the idea of leaving Man City for PSG. The Portugal international has been considered a first team regular under Pep Guardiola in every season he has played for the club. But in recent years the attacking midfielder never made it a secret he would be open to continue his career elsewhere. In earlier seasons Silva has been linked with FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
