Real Madrid and Manchester United are ready to battle it out for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old Danish striker is currently enjoying a stellar season in the Serie A and with his performances he has now caught the eye of the two giant clubs. With his performances and style of play Hojlund has often been compared to Erling Haaland.
Madrid is cautiously looking ahead and preparing for a life without Karim Benzema. The talented Hojlund could therefore be brought to Spain next summer to prepare him for the big work under the wings of Benzema. The French striker currently is in talks with Madrid to extend his contract to 2024, but it is expected that Benzema is planning to retire in the summer of 2025.
And according to The Daily Mail, Madrid will face stiff competition from Man United. Boss Erik ten Hag is keen on investing in his squad and would love to add the young striker to his team next year. United could be tempted to push forward potential talks with Atalanta if Madrid is seriously interested in signing Hojlund this summer. At this point it is unclear if the Italian club is willing to sell Hojlund and which transfer fee they would like to receive.
