Sadio Mane is not keen on leaving Bayern Munich this summer to complete a return to the Premier League.
- Sane wants to stay at Bayern
- Forward has 10 goals and 6 assists this season
- Bayern look to win title ahead of Dortmund
What is the news?
Mane joined Bayern last summer as a replacement of Robert Lewandowski. During his first six months the Senegal international impressed with ten goals and six assists. After a knee injury, Mane’s performances declined and that led to the rumours of Mane being forced out of the club this summer. Reports from Germany have claimed that the forward is not looking for an early exit at Bayern and hopes to stay on next season.
The backstory
Mane has had ups and downs this season. After a good start to the season, a knee injury ended his World Cup dream with Senegal. He returned after the winter break but has never been able to reach his former level. He then also had a bust-up with teammate Leroy Sane, which resulted in a short suspension and a 500.000 euro fine. Since his return his performances have not improved and it was suggested that Thomas Tuchel isn’t preparing to give Mane a new chance next season.
What next for Mane?
With Mane being keen on staying on at Bayern, it is expected that the forward will not look for a move this summer unless he is forced out of the club. Meanwhile, Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation and could make a move should Mane become available on the market.
