What is the news?
According to L’Equipe, both Ramos and PSG are interested in extending their adventure into next season. The 37-yar-old has an expiring contract and there have been several rumours the defender was told he could leave. However, his fortunes have changed and PSG are now reportedly looking to offer Ramos a new one-year contract.
The backstory
Ramos arrived from Real Madrid two seasons ago and in his first season the defender was ruled out for the majority of the season due to injuries. This season Ramos has managed to get 43 appearances as he stayed fit for most part of the season. Due to Prisnel Kimbembe’s long-term injury, Ramos has been playing regularly in PSG’s backline for the largest part of the season.
What next for Ramos?
It will be interesting to see if Ramos will continue his first-team run with PSG next season. The French giants will be welcoming Internazionale defender Milan Skriniar and it is expected that they will be looking for more defensive players during the summer window. One of the players who has been linked with PSG is Bayern Munich defender and France international Lucas Hernandez. It is believed that the 28-year-old has already agreed personal terms with PSG.
