What is the news?
Milan lost the first leg 2-0 against Inter last week and will need a big upset against their city rivals if they still want to qualify for the final of the Champions League. Despite the loss, head coach Stefano Pioli is still confident that his team is able to overturn the score and get a much needed win against Inter.
What did Pioli say?
Ahead of the game on Tuesday, Piolo was quizzed by reporters about his side’s chances. Pioli said: “It’s not easy to prepare for tomorrow, but we have an important goal in mind: to win the match to qualify for the final like nobody would have ever predicted. Now more than ever, nobody thinks that Milan can reach the final. I know that we can play a great match.”
Milan injury update
The coach also gave an injury update ahead of the game on Tuesday. Ismael Bennacer has been ruled out for the rest of the season, but the Italian is expecting a role for star forward Rafael Leao, which gives Milan a major boost. “He’s better, like Krunic and Messias, they should do some finishing today. If everything goes as planned they’ll be available,” Pioli closed the interview.
