- Two players on Spurs’ wishlist
- Spurs looking for new goalkeeper
What is the news?
Tottenham are reportedly lining up two summer moves for Southampton players this summer, reports from England have claimed. Their main target looks to be James Ward-Prowse, with the midfielder being on the list at Liverpool as well. The other player on Tottenham’s wishlist is goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu. Spurs are expecting that number one goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be leaving the club and Bazunu is currently topping their list with potential replacements.
The backstory
Southampton’s faith was decided last weekend after the Saints lost 2-0 to Fulham. That defeat confirmed that Southampton will be playing in the Championship next season. With the club leaving the Premier League, it is expected that several players will be pushing for a transfer this summer. Ward-Prowse has never played for a different club than Southampton and the 28-year-old midfielder has played over 350 games for the club.
What next?
Interest in Southampton players looks to be high this summer as several clubs have already been linked with both Ward-Prowse and Bazunu. Clubs like Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United are looking at some of the players and look to make several offers this summer.
